Where are you from?
I grew up and live in Farmingdale, NY.
What is your education?
I graduated from Hofstra University with a B.A. in Speech Arts and Fine Arts. and a M.S.E.
How long have you been a teacher:
I have been teaching for 24 years, spending most of my career in Nursery/Pre-K. Art, Mommy and Me, first and second grades are some other past teaching experiences.
Favorite Saint?
St. John Baptist de La Salle, patron saint for teachers, is one that I have always identified with.
Favorite Quote?
One of my favorite quotes is “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Albert Einstein
Favorite Book?
“The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” by Kate DeCamillo is one of my most favorite books.
Favorite Verse?
One of one my favorite verses from the Bible is “Kind words are like honey...sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” Proverbs 16:24
What can they look forward to when they join your class?
Art is a time to unwind and enjoy time creating masterpieces. We will be learning about famous artists and styles of art that are interesting and fun to do!
What’s unique and interesting about your class?
In art we are using the right side of our brains and giving the analytical left side a rest. Let your imaginations take over!
How is your class different from what they experienced last year?
Art continues to enhance fine motor skills, problem solving skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity and open-mindedness. It's fun too!!! I hope you are looking forward to sketching, painting, modeling, sculpture and much more!
