What can they look forward to when they join your class?
I like to create a very comfortable learning environment. I believe students learn their best when they are comfortable and confident, THere is a lot of reading and sharing thoughts about the readings. Increasing vocabulary is a daily activity. Students can look forward to finally being comfortable to ask questions, expand their knowledge through different genres of literature.
What’s unique and interesting about your class?
I decorate my class to make the students feel at home. With comfortable couches, tables, rocking chairs and more, I feel the children can be comfortable and confident to ask the questions they need to in order to understand the content.
How is your class different from what they experienced last year?
When the students come up to the 5th grade, they join the middle school. They move from class to class, have multiple teachers, a rotating schedule with specials included. They have lockers and they are interacting with many more older students. This transition creates a great shift in a desire to “step it up”, improve their study habits, plan accordingly and become a responsible student. 5th grade is the grade where we start to teach the student to focus on the much larger picture of their education, we are preparing the challenges to come in many supportive and interesting ways.
Message to Parents
I am so incredibly grateful to be working with a team of teachers who all have the same goal in mind….to give the students at OLG the best education built on a STRONG foundation of faith. The energy in our school is fresh, it’s exhilarating and that is felt by the students and teachers.. The sky's the limit, and I can’t wait to see what AMAZING things our students will do.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with your children. I am excited to meet you all face to face. You can contact me through my email mradin@olgschools.org, OR by using the REMIND app.I have been sending pictures of the students throughout the day on REMIND, so please join!
Communication between parents and teachers shows the students that we are all together in supporting his/her growth at OLG. PLEASE feel free to contact me for anything you may need. ALL the students have joined my google classroom and you can message me through there OR through REMIND. I want the students to be comfortable to email me with questions or concerns as well. Two quotes that I love to share are “The way we talk to our children becomes their inner voice.” ― Peggy O’Mara…… I want to make sure the communication line is open for you at all times.
